About the Project
This project is funded by Innovate UK and involves and academic and industry consortium with University of Nottingham as academic lead; industry partners as Dunbia and Farm Wizard.

We are currently trialing our innovative technology on 25 sheep farms in the UK.

Project Aims
The project seeks to address the challenge of sheep lameness, a predominant cause of both poor productive and reproductive performance causing a reduction in product value to the farmer, processor, retailer and consumer.
We have developed innovative hardware and software systems as part of this project for lameness data collection and feedback and we are testing effectiveness of these systems in facilitating a targeted risk based control strategy. Our consortium intends to reduce lameness, improve production and welfare on farms via use of this technology.
We are also researching factors that influence technology adoption on farms.
